Calls to Pitch
MIT Technology Review has shared their latest call for pitches, this time around the theme of ‘Creativity’. “We’re looking for big swings on that general theme: narrative features, essential profiles, investigations, and sharp essays to go in the feature well of the magazine. As always, we’re looking for stories that have a technology angle. The deadline for pitches is Wednesday December 4.” Pays $1-$2/word.
Current Affairs is accepting pitches for new articles on animal welfare and the environment, among other topics. Their submission guidelines are very detailed. Pay is $200 online, $300 in print. Use this submission form to send your pitch.
For Business Insider, Jess is looking for people who have specifically moved from Canada to the US and prefer life in the States for any number of reasons including society, finances, work, retirement, family, diet, health, or otherwise. Email them directly: jorwig@businessinsider.com. Pay is usually $200-$230 range.
Paige at Business Insider is looking for frequent cruisers/former cruise employees/etc who have a great cruise tip they learned from experience or a mistake. Rate starts at $230 for 600 words. More info in this thread.
