Calls to Pitch
Narratively has shared a new pitch call, My Secret Obsession. “We’re on the hunt for real-life stories about people with extraordinary, life-altering obsessions. If your unconventional infatuation has upended your life or brought you unimaginable joy, we want to hear about it.” Pay starts at $750 with room to go up for more ambitious stories. Deadline February 13th.
Jack at GQ is interested in hearing from you if you're a great writer and you've a great games pitch! “Shoot me an email. Would love a couple of pieces over the line in February.” Rates were around 30p/word previously, unclear if this has changed.
Maybelle at i News is looking for men or women who regret spending years spent chasing younger men or women. This publication pays £250 for 1000 word features, according to a previous writer.
Any grandmothers feel pressured to move near their grandchildren or guilty they haven't? Maybelle is also looking to commission a UK writer for this too. Contact maybelle.morgan@theipaper.com. Same rates, presumably.
Dan is a big fan of NYC Subway Takes, and not to rip them off, but very much welcomes pitches that are (educated/nuanced/fun) rants on Bay Area issues big/small. Rates = $300. Details in Dan’s bio.
