Calls to Pitch
It’s time to pitch stories and photos for the fourth print issue of Mildew: The Secondhand Fashion Magazine! They are seeking ideas that invite readers to think about old clothes in new ways, and go beyond “why thrifting is more sustainable/ethical/fun/personal than fast fashion.”
Maybelle is always on the lookout for UK lifestyle pitches across relationships, money, health and wellness. You can read a thread of the types of articles they are looking for here.
Mirror Lamp Press invites pitches from writers for Issue 11, a deep dive into all things food-related. We welcome responses in the form of creative nonfiction, essays, memoir, and reportage that examine the personal, political, or cultural aspects of food. Additionally, we are open to recipes, reflections on specific dishes, and book, restaurant, TV, or Film reviews. Selected writers will receive €500 to develop their pitch into a piece of 1,500–2,000 words.
Unbias the News is seeking pitches about climate and migration, worldwide and in Europe (respectively). Check out the call and submit a pitch by Feb. 9th. They pay 500 Euros per story and share copyright with authors.
Vittles Cooking has recently shared their new call for writers. There are no restrictions on what you can pitch – beyond the need to be related to home cooking in one way or another - and you can find a full list of details in the attached link. Pays £150-£500 (or around 40p a word).
