Deadlines Coming Up…
The sixth annual Story Foundation Prize is still open! The winner will receive $1500 and publication in Story Magazine’s summer 2025 issue for a single short story. Deadline is December 14th.
Submissions are open for the Australian Poetry Journal Vol. 14.1 ‘walking’ – guest edited by Jake Goetz. APJ 14.1 takes inspiration around ‘walking’, and the 50 poems published to this theme are intended to be a reframing of what poetry about ‘walking’ might be. Deadline is December 15th.
Split Lip Magazine is a voice-driven literary journal with a pop culture twist and is looking for fiction, poetry and memoirs. They pay contributors $75 for accepted work. Submissions close December 15th.
The Chapbook Open, returning for the fifth year, is a call for submissions of literary prose chapbooks. “We’re looking for collections of flash fiction, creative nonfiction essays, short stories, and anything in-between. We encourage you to experiment with style and form and push the boundaries of genre. But be aware: manuscripts are capped at 45 pages. The Masters Review is proud to offer the winner a $3,000 cash prize, along with manuscript publication and 50 contributor copies.” Closes December 15th.
2024 will be the seventh year of The Test Site Poetry Series. “Thanks to a generous gift, we’re delighted to announce that in 2024 and going forward, Interim will choose two winning books for the series—one title publicized as the winner of The Test Site Poetry Series and the other as the Betsy Joiner Flanagan Award in Poetry.” Both winners will receive $1,000 and their books will be published by the University of Nevada Press. Closes December 15th.
